My Life

I’ve been designing things and drawing pictures ever since I was a youngster. I think I realized that I wanted to be a designer when I was about 5 years old, when the stickmen that I was drawing looked mildly more impressive than the other children’s creations. One of my first cracks at consumer driven design took place in about grade 5, when at the tender age of 10 years old, I designed a poster advertising the Horny Bar. When eaten, this tasty snack would cause an individual to develop enormous horns down their spine. It wasn’t until I reached grade 7 when I realized what a Horny Bar might really do to someone. I wish I kept a portfolio back then.

Have legs, will travel

I have grown a lot since the days of the Horny Bar, and I’ve designed a lot of things since then too. My design career has brought me all the way from Edmonton, Canada to the beautiful city of Seattle. I am currently a senior designer at Onlineshoes.com, and have enjoyed design positions in a variety of small to medium sized businesses over the past 7 years, including one of my own at one point.

I do enjoy my weekends

While I do enjoy my work, I also believe that there are other important things in life besides just having a successful career. That’s why my wife Rachel and I try to make the most of our time outside of work. Whether it’s snowboarding, backpacking, running, playing tennis, or sampling some of the great restaurants in and around Seattle, we truly enjoy spending our free time doing the things we love.
