The Classic Crime

Posted By: Geoff

The Classic CrimeMy good friend Burke just sent me a link for Seattle-based band The Classic Crime, and I highly recommend you all check them out as well. They just released their debut album “Albatross” (on sale now at Best Buy for 10 bux), and to celebrate, they’re giving away a skateboard a week. Just visit their purevolume site to learn how to enter. Thanks for the link Burke!

New Identity: Vagablond

Posted By: Geoff

VagablondBehold, the lastest identity from the werbicki.com studios: Vagablond! Vagablond.com is an online magazine, with articles focusing on fashionable travel, food, wine and shopping. The owners of the site had three key objectives in mind when they came to me for my assistance. “The logo must be hip, stylish and fun”, they said. So that’s what I gave them. The off-kilter, V-shaped martini glass was the perfect way to add some high-end flavor, while keeping the logo fun and playful. Needless to say, the logo is a hit, and the owners can’t wait for me to redesign the entire site. Stay tuned.

Skate Plaza

Posted By: Geoff

Skate PlazaRob Dyrdek’s Skate Plaza located in Kettering, Ohio was opened on June 11th, 2005. It’s the first skate park of it’s kind, boasting “real” street terrain that most skate parks don’t offer. Another Skate Plaza located in Shreveport, Louisiana recently opened it’s doors on March 26th. Also, check out “Groundbreaking”, a 30-minute documentary by DC Films which features footage of today’s top pros and ams at the Kettering Skate Plaza, as well as bonus footage on how to get a Skate Plaza built in your own town. Find the DVD at your local skate shop.

Going Coastal…

Posted By: Geoff

OregonRachel and I are heading to the Oregon Coast tomorrow morning for a 6 day camping trip at some of the nicest locations in Oregon, including Cannon Beach. It’s been a long time since we’ve been down the ol’ 101, and we’re really looking forward to it. I’m especially looking forward to letting the Passat rip down the coast highway. Pictures will be posted in the photos section upon our return. Adios!

Element Endangered

Element EndangeredCheck out Element Skateboards “Endangered” series. Element is big on the art community, and the Endangered program was an opporunity for them to give back to the culture that helped shape them as individuals and a company. The series contains the work of 5 different artists. Be sure to check out the Michael Leon video documentary. Very cool.
