This past Saturday, Rachel, Steff and I hit the slopes up at the Summit. While the weather was a little more chilly than usual, we all had a great time. Steff learned how to connect some turns, and Rachel was looking like an old pro as she carved the mountain with reckless abandon. I did, however, video her taking a nasty spill! Next weekend, My brother-in-law Rick and I are heading to Mt. Baker. It will be my first time there, and I’m totally looking forward to an awesome day. I’ll be sure to bring the camera along, so check back for updates soon!

Shaveeverywhere.com is one of the funniest (and most brilliant) sites I have come across in a long time. Philips is the first of the shaving companies to market body hair grooming for men (or manscaping, for all you lamens out there), and they are doing so with their very own “Bodygroom” shaver. This bad boy is fully rechargeable, water resistent and ergonomically designed to reach those areas most difficult to get to, including those below the equator. So, take care of that ane-mane, trim up those sideburns and gain that optical inch - head down to your local Target and pick up the new Philips Bodygroom for a cool 35 bux. Enjoy!

With their intricate guitar riffs, numerous tempo transitions, and awesome vocals, Silverstein is quickly becoming one of the best screamo bands around. They’re certainly one of my favorites, and, luckily for me, they’re playing at the Showbox on October 30th. Rachel and I will be there with bells on… then we’ll trade the bells in for a couple of snazzy new T’s.

I’ve uploaded some of my favorite shots from our Oregon trip (from way back in August). I took the picture to the left at Nehalem Bay: Sunset over the Pacific Ocean.

Ok, so it’s been a while since my last post, but I have some good excuses, really! I just started a new job at Onlineshoes.com, and I’ve been busy with a lot of fun freelance projects (including the re-design of Vagablond.com). Oh, and we’ve been trying to squeeze some great hikes in before the end of the season. Our most recent ascent was up Mount Dickerman, located in the northern Cascades, and let me tell you, this one was a beauty (not to mention pretty challenging: A 8.6 mile round trip, with a 3800 foot elevation gain). We went with some of our friends from Canada, and I think we left them with a great impression of what the Seattle area has to offer. For some more information on the hike, including directions on how to get there, click here.

Located on top of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, Malena’s Taco Shop is one of the best places I have eaten in a long time. The shop itself is quite small, but don’t let that fool you into thinking that their servings are small as well. The insanely low prices and giant servings (not to mention the delicious dishes) make this hole-in-the-wall one of my new favorite places to eat. Enjoy!

My good friend Burke just sent me a link for Seattle-based band The Classic Crime, and I highly recommend you all check them out as well. They just released their debut album “Albatross” (on sale now at Best Buy for 10 bux), and to celebrate, they’re giving away a skateboard a week. Just visit their purevolume site to learn how to enter. Thanks for the link Burke!

Behold, the lastest identity from the werbicki.com studios: Vagablond! Vagablond.com is an online magazine, with articles focusing on fashionable travel, food, wine and shopping. The owners of the site had three key objectives in mind when they came to me for my assistance. “The logo must be hip, stylish and fun”, they said. So that’s what I gave them. The off-kilter, V-shaped martini glass was the perfect way to add some high-end flavor, while keeping the logo fun and playful. Needless to say, the logo is a hit, and the owners can’t wait for me to redesign the entire site. Stay tuned.

Rob Dyrdek’s Skate Plaza located in Kettering, Ohio was opened on June 11th, 2005. It’s the first skate park of it’s kind, boasting “real” street terrain that most skate parks don’t offer. Another Skate Plaza located in Shreveport, Louisiana recently opened it’s doors on March 26th. Also, check out “Groundbreaking”, a 30-minute documentary by DC Films which features footage of today’s top pros and ams at the Kettering Skate Plaza, as well as bonus footage on how to get a Skate Plaza built in your own town. Find the DVD at your local skate shop.

Rachel and I are heading to the Oregon Coast tomorrow morning for a 6 day camping trip at some of the nicest locations in Oregon, including Cannon Beach. It’s been a long time since we’ve been down the ol’ 101, and we’re really looking forward to it. I’m especially looking forward to letting the Passat rip down the coast highway. Pictures will be posted in the photos section upon our return. Adios!
